Sue and I passed through Bangkok just after Christmas 2009. We were still in time to see the Christmas lights and hit the after Christmas sales! Christmas is less celabrated in most places in Thailand than it is in the U.S. but downtown Bangkok is different. Sue and I try to get to Bangkok at least once during the season if we will not be in the U.S. This trip is described in my blog at www.opportunityfoundation.org/ofblog.
The Thais may not have the Christmas tradition that we Americans and Europeans have, but that does not stop them from enjoying the season. With these pictures we try to show you what we see and enjoy of Christmas in Bangkok.

Everyone has to get into the act. A small chinese temple with Christmas lights.
On the skytrain walk to Central World Plaza we see the display infront of Amarin shopping center.
If your looking for the action, noise and crowds, this is it. The plaza in front of Central World. There were at least tens of thousands here. The tree is around one hundred feet high.
Everyone is either taking a picture or posing among the various Christmas displays.
Countdown clock for the new year.
Any beer here, as long as its Tiger Beer. At least five beer companies have beer gardens in the plaza.
